AI Foundation by Encode Club and Venture Miner: That’s a Wrap on Our First Ever AI Course!
Our first AI Foundation Bootcamp finished this Friday, after four weeks of learning all about the capabilities and potential applications of AI!
This bootcamp was Encode’s first AI programme — and we’re happy to report that it was a resounding success. We look forward to announcing new and exciting AI-related programmes in 2024!

For four consecutive Fridays, participants attended 90-minute sessions. Alongside this, participants were expected to join in on online discussions and participate in group projects. The bootcamp was run on Discord and Livestorm, with mentorship provided throughout. Following the conclusion of the bootcamp, participants will be given NFT certificates to celebrate their achievement!
Learning Outcomes
- Week 1— Introduction to ChatGPT: Students were given an overview of ChatGPT’s architecture and applications, as well as a hands-on guide to building a simple ChatGPT API app.
- Week 2 — Practical Use of ChatGPT: This week, hackers were encouraged to experiment with the ChatGPT API app. There was also an opportunity to review and feedback on ChatGPT’s capabilities.
- Week 3 — Using Llama 2: Following 2 weeks on ChatGPT, students explored Llama 2 and its NLP features. They were also given a step-by-step guide to using the tool for NLP tasks.
- Week 4 — Generating Images with Python: In this session, Matheus closed off the series with a fun overview of image generation techniques and how to write Python script for such tasks.
