Announcing the Encode x LightLink Gasless Hackathon, starting in January 2024.
Encode Club is excited to announce the Encode x LightLink Gasless Hackathon, launching on January 9th 2024.
Taking place for four weeks between January and February 2024, this hackathon is a great opportunity for hackers to explore and build on LightLink — all while getting a chance to win part of the $29.7k prize pool, or $24k in grants!
If you’re looking for an opportunity to join an ecosystem early on and to develop it from the very beginning, this hackathon is for you. There’ll be some incredible bounties for all levels and interests–whether your project is focused on account abstraction or even gaming!

Overview:
During the hackathon, participants will spend 4 weeks exploring the distinct features LightLink has to offer. Each participant will get 1–1 guidance from the team at Encode Club, helping them turn ideas into reality as well as get technical support from the LightLink team and hackathon sponsors
The hackathon will also include multiple technical workshops. These sessions will be led by builders from across the LightLink ecosystem–providing hackers with the chance to gather inspiration and to ask practical questions.

Hackathon Schedule
The LightLink Gasless Hackathon will kick off in January 2024 with an online Launch Event. You’ll meet the LightLink and Encode teams, as well as your fellow hackers.
Throughout the 4–week period, you’ll participate in a series of workshops hosted by hackathon partners. Simultaneously, you’ll be expected to build and submit a project.
Reminder: we’ll be there every step of the way. Your assigned Programme Manager will regularly check on your progress. What’s more, you’ll be able to book check-in calls to get direct support or ask questions over Discord.

Bounties and prizes
All prizes will be distributed in stablecoins within 3 weeks after the hackathon concludes. The total prize pool is $29,700, plus $24,000 in grants provided by partners.
Deployment pool prize sponsored by LightLink and Blockscout:
- $5,000 for deployment on Testnet and completing a task from Blockscout.
5 best teams (even if challenge partners didn’t select their submissions): $12,000 total
- First Place: $5,000 + $5,000 prize auditing hours from Sec3
- Second Place: $3,000 + $3,000 prize auditing hours from Sec3
- Third Place: $1,750 + $1,000 prize auditing hours from Sec3
- Fourth Place: $1,250
- Fifth Place: $1,000
7 Partner Challenges:
- $12,700 + $24,000 in grants provided by partners.
Additionally, LightLink will contact the most promising teams to discuss credits for gasless transactions using Enterprise Mode on the Mainnet, and grants.
