Announcing the Encode x Polygon Partnership and Initiatives
We’re delighted to announce the launch of our new programmes in partnership with Polygon, following the great success of our Polygon-dedicated educational series in 2021.
Our new programming will consist of a Polygon-dedicated hackathon and accelerator, as well as eight special Polygon-dedicated workshops as part of our Solidity Bootcamps.

Encode x Polygon Hackathon
The Encode x Polygon Hackathon is a four-week hackathon dedicated to Polygon starting in May 2022.
The main theme of the hackathon is building on Polygon where hackers can answer multiple challenges.
Challenges
1. Beginner’s Track
Build basic dApps to get started with your web3 development journey:
• Mint an NFT on Polygon using hardhat/truffle and verify the contract on Polygonscan.
• Build a dApp to read and write from a smart contract with a front-end.
• Decentralized voting dApp.
• Supply chain tracking dApp.
Prizes:
$500 x 20 teams
Total pool = $10,000
2. Web3 Full Stack Challenge
• Build an NFT minter dApp with a fully functional front-end to mint NFTs (both ERC 721 and ERC 1155) on Polygon.
• Build a DeFi lending and borrowing dApp (Front-end + Smart contracts).
• Build a decentralized Web3 Blogging platform using lens protocol on Polygon.
• Build a dynamically generated NFT collection minter dApp.
• Build a decentralized version of Patreon catered to the web3 creator community.
Top Prizes:
1st: $5,000
2nd: $2,500
3rd: $1,500
Runner-ups: $500 x 6 teams = $3,000
Total pool = $12,000
3. Open Track Challenge

We are always looking for new innovation and creativity and this track is exactly for that.
Prizes:
1st Prize: $10,000
2nd Prize: $5,000
3rd Prize: $3,000
Runner-ups: $1,000 x 5 teams
Total of $23,000
Covalent Challenge
Covalent is offering a $4,000 USD (equivalent in USDC/USDT) prize pool for all projects that make meaningful use of any Covalent API endpoints for their Encode x Polygon hackathon BUIDLs.
To qualify, projects must, at the very last, use one Covalent API endpoint and pull on-chain data from any of our 28 supported chains.
Projects that are multi-chain and make use of our NFT-specific and Event-specific endpoints will be given special attention. Read more about the challenge and Covalent here.

Unstoppable Domains Challenge
Integrate the “Login with Unstoppable” feature as a login option on your dApp OR submit a PR to merge this feature as a login option on an existing DeFi/NFT dApp.
Unstoppable Domains will be awarding their Prizes as follows:
Total prizes of $8,000 (all payable in USDC)
Main prizes — Best use of Login with Unstoppable
- 1st — $2,000 USDC + $10,000 free domain credits
- 2nd — $1,500 + $7,500 free domain credits
- 3rd — $1,000 + $5,000 free domain credits
$3,500 Prize Pool
- Split between all non-winning, but qualifying teams that submit for a prize
- Qualifying teams will also receive $3,000 in free domain credits

Submissions

You’ll be expected to submit a codebase and a 3-min video demonstration, and optionally a website/demo, technical paper and/or a presentation.

Encode x Polygon Accelerator
Following the Polygon Hackathon, we will be running a special 8-week Polygon accelerator dedicated to helping Polygon projects develop into full-fledged startups!
Successful teams will receive stipends as well as opportunities for further grants in the Polygon ecosystem.
Applications for the Polygon accelerator will open during the hackathon and the programme will kick off in July 2022. Stay tuned for the announcement!
Solidity Bootcamps
Polygon is sponsoring our EVM-based Solidity Bootcamps. Each of our upcoming bootcamp cohorts will be onboarded to Polygon through special bootcamp workshops hosted by the Polygon team.
