About the Hackathon

MultiversX + Encode /hackathon was a hybrid hackathon, happening both online and IRL as part of the xDay event in Bucharest.

The hackathon kicked off with a month of online building and culminated in a 3-day hackathon finale in Bucharest from the 19th to the 21st October. Hackathon submissions were due on 20th October, with winners announced live on 21st October!

The hackathon featured awesome prizes (prize pool worth over $1 million USD!) and 5 partner-sponsored tracks, enabling hackers to build across a spectrum of different bounties.

Introducing the team that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create a seamless and memorable MultiversX hackathon experience for all participants!

Klara, Eomji, Yasen, and Rory helped organize and run the event. Their upbeat energy and constant communication with hackers, both during the online phase and the in-person event, ensured a collaborative and successful hackathon.

First Day

Day 1 commenced with the doors opening at 8:30 am, as hackers rushed to the Innovation stage for the Hacking Kickoff. The morning featured enlightening sessions on web3 transitions, successful strategy implementation, and a series of hands-on workshops led by industry experts.

After a lunch break, the day concluded with a Code Quest Under the Starlit Night, where all hackers were given the opportunity to work on their projects throughout the night, staying at the venue overnight to maximize their productivity and prepare for submissions the following day.

Second Day

Day 2 began with the unwavering commitment of hackers who had stayed overnight, still on-site from the previous day. As the clock struck 9:00 am, they were joined by those arriving in the morning to partake in the day’s events. The morning was dedicated to a series of enriching workshops and insightful discussions. As the clock approached noon, the focus shifted to the Code Submission Finale, where hackers were in a race against time to finalize their projects for submission. Lunch provided a well-deserved break before the afternoon sessions, which included discussions on blockchain’s potential and the art of scaling for startups. The day was a whirlwind of activity and knowledge sharing, setting the stage for a successful conclusion to the MultiversX hackathon.

Finale

The xDay Hackathon Wrap-up was hosted on the Main Stage, led by Alex Radu, Business Manager at MultiversX. It was a moment to reflect and celebrate the hackathon’s journey and innovation. The evening crescendoed with the prestigious xDay Hackathon Awards Ceremony, shining a spotlight on outstanding accomplishments as all winners were proudly announced. The official xDay closing Party began around 8:00 PM, promising a night of celebration and networking before the doors closed at midnight, marking the end of a truly memorable event.

Judges meticulously assessed the projects and decided on the following winners across different tracks:

AI track:

1st place: TKYC

AI-driven on-chain analysis and categorizing of wallet user types.

2nd place: Sensei Ecosystem

Ground-breaking gamification layer for existing Learning Management Systems.

3rd place: MxAI

A chatbot designed to provide an AI-driven interface that streamlines repetitive and time-consuming processes.

4th place: Locki.io

A platform revolutionizing 3D design for artists and developers, redefining NFTs, introducing enriched online experiences, exclusive content access, dynamic updates, and parametric adjustments.

DeFI track:

1st place: DeFi Builder

No-Code dApp Builder for token contracts and more.

2nd place: Savings+ by Autoscale

A decentralized savings account, designed to elevate the core features of traditional bank savings.

3rd place: Refracto

Real Estate DeFi solution, allowing users to finance quality real estate projects.

4th place: TurboDeFi.io

A DeFi aggregator that offers a comprehensive view of various DeFi protocols, including lending, borrowing, yield farming, staking and liquidity provision.

Infrastructure & Dev Tooling track:

1st place: Spawnable

Dev tools for pushing code to GitHub and for generating UIs for SC.

2nd place: Calileo

Employing Itheum tech to create a visual tool that maps the intricate social connections among users, communities, and brands.

3rd place: Pulsar Wallet

Multi-chain compatibility, NFT interactions, and an integrated partner hub, the wallet seamlessly combines with partners such as Ashswap and Itheum.

4th place: Decentralized Copyright Shield

Providing indisputable proof of content ownership, ensuring creators and artists control and protect their work from unauthorized use and theft.

Payments track:

1st place: CoinDrip

Real-time payment protocol providing a flexible and efficient system that allows users to schedule, collect, and access funds instantly.

2nd place: xTwister

Separating deposit and withdrawal wallets, ensuring zero linkage.

3rd place: Pulsar Money v2

Enriching invoices, payment links, discord bot for payments and Pulsar pages spin on Patreon on chain.

4th place: LUNAR PAY

A payment solution that enables businesses and individuals to improve their token operations and create various payment agreements.

Mobile Apps track:

1st place: XOXNO

A fully mobile app that can interact with xPortal by connecting and signing transactions, creating native wallets and exploring the entire MultiversX NFT ecosystem.

2nd place: GiveCup

A mobile app that aims to ensure every donation counts, while providing a rewarding and engaging user experience.

3rd place: Gaupa Tracker

A consumer facing mobile app allowing consumers to verify the journey of the product they’ve purchased using blockchain as an immutable ledger.

4th place: Prime Wallet

A fully mobile app that can interact with xPortal by connecting and signing transactions, creating native wallets and exploring the entire MultiversX NFT ecosystem.
